Natural Grocers is a health food store that is moving into the Phoenix area in a big way. The Colorado-based company will have 5 locations open in the metro area by July and is eager to win customers’ trust in the growing market segment of eating clean and healthy. Here are three things you’ll want to know about their stores:
Health education first. Of course the company wants you to buy their products, but they also want you to use them correctly. Each store has a Nutrition Health Coach who teaches free in-store classes and also does one-on-one private health coaching. All of it is free to customers. The stores also open their meeting space to non-profits and community health education advocates.
All produce is organic. No more reading every label or looking for color-coding. The entire section is organic and fresh-looking. They are the only large-scale grocery store to claim 100 percent organic fruits and vegetables.
No open bulk bins. Many of the store’s nuts, grains, and flours are refrigerated, and all are pre-packaged. This preserves their freshness and eliminates cross-contamination. They also recommend that we refrigerate our grains at home to give them a longer lifespan.
Natural Grocers currently has stores open in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Chandler. Two stores will open in Gilbert in July as well. To find a location nearby, check our their store locator map.
