Celebrate Mother’s Day at Mimi’s Cafe!
I do not know of any mom who wouldn’t want to be taken out to eat for Mother’s Day. No cooking and no cleaning up is music to any mom’s ears.
There are many options of restaurants that dedicate their menus for this special occasion. My family and I were grateful to be able to explore a specific three-course meal from Mimi’s Café to honor this day.
First off, $5 Mimosas!! Yes, please! I had to try one. There are three options: Mango, White Peach and Triple Berry. I was feeling a sweet tooth, so I ordered the Triple Berry. Delicious! If you like the taste of tangerine, you will love this! It’s advertised that the mimosas are made with a tangerine burst. Definitely tasted it with every sip. I had self-control and only ordered one. So I can’t speak for the other flavors, but the Triple Berry was on point.
Mimi’s Café has a special brunch menu that is served until 1pm as well as a dinner menu that starts at 11AM. I went for the dinner menu.
The starter menu consisted of a choice of house salad, Caesar salad or a cup of soup. I love Caesar, so I went with that.
My husband ordered the house salad. Both salads came out with a generous amount, fresh and appetizing. No disappointments there.
The Main Course gives you a choice of 6 savory options. Chicken Chop Salad, Quiche Lorraine, Chicken Tillamook Cheddar Mac, Shrimp Brochette skewers, Mushroom Brie Burger and Slow Roasted Turkey. I haven’t had a burger in awhile, so I ordered the Mushroom Brie Burger. My husband ordered the Chicken Tillamook Cheddar Mac. Again, a generous amount of food.
Brie cheese is definitely an acquired taste, in my opinion. The burger didn’t wow me but it wasn’t terrible if that makes sense. On the other hand…that Cheddar Mac my husband ordered, Oh my goodness, he gave me that “back off of my plate’ look. Haha I couldn’t resist. There was none leftover on that plate. Just scrumptious!
Now came the desert. Two choices: Chocolate Chip Croissant Bread Pudding or a Seasonal Muffin Sundae. We tried to order one of each, but the location we were at was out of the chocolate chip croissant. We got the Seasonal Muffin Sundae. I have heard from a few people that Mimi’s has the best muffins. I was eager to try it myself plus in a sundae form?! Pure delicacy. No disappointments.
Overall the food and service was superb. I will have to say, the portion amounts of food for one three course meal, my husband and I both agreed that we easily could’ve shared one and still would’ve been full. So, when you’re looking for a restaurant to take mom to this weekend, Mimi’s is a great choice!
