I hate carving pumpkins. I am absolutely no good at it. My boys love digging their hands in the goo and making a mess. Well, a few years ago at work, we had a pumpkin carving contest. I wanted to enter but I wanted an easy shortcut. I came up with the idea of making a pumpkin look like a hamburger. It takes very little knife skills and just a little imagination.
Here are the easy steps:
- Cut the pumpkin in half and take out a handful of the seeds.
- Cut out a small section of the pumpkin, slice into long strips and use as french fries.
- Place lettuce, tomato, cheese and hamburger patties on the bottom half of pumpkin.
- Place the top half of the pumpkin on the filling and then glue your pumpkin seeds to the top. (Don’t they look like sesame seeds?
As you can see I got all of my extra props from Wendy’s but you can use the cup, wrapper and french fry from container from your favorite restaurant to personalize it a little bit.
If you’re wondering, we did get first place for this entry!
