Alright, who made a New Year’s resolution to get healthy in 2017? There are many gyms to choose from but why not get fit and have fun at Flywheel?
Flywheel is conveniently located at the Scottsdale Quarter and offers classes throughout the day to meet your schedule. And don’t worry if you’ve never taken a spin class before. I was a first timer and they made me feel so comfortable. From the time I arrived until the time I left, everyone was so friendly and helpful.
To get started, set up an account so you can see the schedule and reserve a class. After you’ve chosen your class, you’ll need to figure which bike you’d like to ride. Since it was my first ride, I chose the back and since the room is set up stadium style I had no problem seeing the instructor.
Through January 31, be sure to use code FLYJANFRIEND at checkout to receive your first class free!
When you arrive at Flywheel, you will receive a pair of shoes to wear so be sure to get there at least 15 minutes early. Be sure to also grab a towel and if you forget your hair tie, they have complimentary ones available.
Since I had never been to a spin class, they were more than happy to show me how to adjust the bike, secure my shoes into the pedals and how to adjust the torque. The class was 45 minutes but with the great music and the instructor encouraging everyone, the class literally flew by!
My main goal was to keep moving the whole class. There were definitely times that I couldn’t pedal as fast as everyone else but I never stopped. Yay me!
After class, showers are available as well as dry shampoo and be sure to grab a piece of fruit.
When you get home login to your dashboard and check out your stats. I can hardly believe that I burned over 500 calories in 45 minutes and pedaled over 20 miles. I thought my legs would be like jello the next day but they were fine. I must admit that my tush was a little sore.
Now go crush those resolutions and get pedaling, you’ll be so glad you did!
