I live in far north Phoenix and noticed a new emergency center being built near me. I passed the construction site everyday on my way to and from work right along the I-17 Freeway. This new emergency center also contains a breast health and research center.
I had the chance to tour the new John C. Lincoln Sonoran facility and learn about what they offer patients.
As soon as we stepped into the emergency room, I was blown away by the atmosphere. Everything was decorated so nicely and the colors were very calming. Our tour guide let us know that on average, the wait time from arrival to discharge is less than two hours. That is almost unheard of in emergency rooms. They also take you straight to a bed instead of making you fill out all paperwork and answer question in the lobby.
If you have a medical emergency with one of your kiddos, they have a great pediatric room and pediatric nurses that will make them feel more at ease. The pediatric room even has a Wii to help pass the time.
Wait to you hear about the breast health and research center. When I walked through the doors my first thought was that I walked into a day spa. The furniture and decorations put me at ease and made me feel so comfortable. I didn’t have any procedures or tests done but I can only imagine how a dark sterile room would make someone feel so panicked. When they designed the waiting room and exam rooms, you can tell they were focusing on helping patients stay calm and comfortable.
Not only is the furniture comfy but so are the robes. Forget about that scratchy paper robes, you will be treated to a soft cotton robe!
If you have any more questions about the John C. Lincoln Sonoran location be sure to check out their website.
Disclosure: I was invited for lunch and a tour of the new medical facility in exchange for my post.
