Hello Everyone!
I am so excited to tell you about my first experience at Junk in the Trunk
Vintage Market! Being a lover of all things local, I had been following
numerous vendors on social media so I was excited to see these shops in
person. I find it extremely important to support local business owners,
giving a shout out via social media, telling your friends (in person) or
making an effort to visit their store. That being said Junk in the Trunk is
the PERFECT opportunity to get to see loads of local vendors, and to
pick up some treasures.
I believe for the last several years, Junk in the Trunk has been held at
West World in Scottsdale. It’s HUGE space with plenty of parking, not to
mention it’s air-conditioned! The venue does charge $5 for parking, so
be prepared with cash. Tickets can be purchased at the gate, they have
cash and credit options. Kids 12 and under are not only free
but also encouraged to come! I saw itty-bitty babies, toddlers and school
aged children. Wagons and strollers are allowed but a wagon could be
difficult to maneuver in the small booth areas, but we could move our
umbrella stroller without too much effort. If you have a smaller baby, I
would suggest wearing them, you will be able to see more junk.
Speaking of babies, they have a mother’s lounge put on by Modern Milk!
I peaked inside and it was a darling room with plenty of comfortable
couches, armchairs and benches with fun throws. There was a restroom
inside. If you are family with small children and you need a break or if
you need a cool comfortable place to nurse, check this sweet room out.
There were quite a few food trucks invited to the venue, so come with
an empty stomach! We had unfortunately already eaten, but we did stop
by at Mama’s Cold Brew. If you love coffee, you need to give this vendor
a try! Their brew is super smooth and a just a touch spiced! Their coffee
is delicious in its true form, straight black coffee! But if black coffee isn’t
your thing, their creamers are nothing but goodness; ingredients you
can pronounce and the flavors aren’t syrup! I tried the pumpkin spice
and it was delicious. You can catch Mama’s Cold Brew all around the
valley any day of the week.
We did pick up some treasures, my husband found a vintage clothing
mannequin from Artful Melange and some distressed wooden frames
from Strawberry Monday. I picked up this awesome wood Arizona state
décor from Everything Goes! Some Junkers prefer to go in with “a
mission” looking for specific pieces, we prefer to look at just about every
vendor and see what surprised us! But believe me, we could have
bought a whole lot more!
If you missed Junk in the Trunk this year, please visit their website to
stay updated on the next market and look at the vendor list and see if
anyone catches your eye. With the holidays approaching quickly,
considering doing your Christmas shopping at a locally owned store. It’s
a win for you and a win for them!
Until next time,
Autumn
