When I became a mom, I made a promise to myself that I would do the best I could to raise kind, thoughtful and caring children and as a work from home mom/small business owner, I am always looking for fun things to do as a family (and things to do to get out of the house!). When I found out about the KINDSnacks Kindness Safari at the Phoenix Zoo I was so excited to take my girls because it was the best of both worlds, family fun AND encouraging kindness…this mom was SOLD! The night before I was reading to them all the fun stuff happening at the zoo and they asked if they could go NOW so I knew this would be great for them.
Saturday morning when we got to the Phoenix Zoo we headed straight for the KINDSnacks booth to pick up our Kindness Safari scavenger hunt, compliment cards and a few KIND Blueberry Vanilla bars and got started on our day.
My girls loved the scavenger hunt book. My oldest daughter was excited to draw pictures of the monkeys (and then they even decided to act like monkeys)
My youngest daughter loved the page that said to show someone you love them by giving them a bear hug, needless to say her older sister was receiving bear hugs ALLLLLL day long (its always so great to see my kids loving on each other and not bickering!!).
As we walked around we were thankful we had those super yummy and super healthy KIND Healthy Grains Vanilla Blueberry bars. Both girls LOVED them and it was nice to give them something good for them as we burned calories hiking around the zoo.
I’m pretty sure there were a few animals we ran into who wished they had our KIND snacks. I know the cute ground squirrels were hoping we would drop some and the tiger stopped what he was doing to stare down what we were eating (sorry guys, these were too good to share with even the cutest critters!).
When we were leaving the zoo we stopped back by the KIND Snacks booth to thank them for the fun day and they gave the girls both a lunch bag filled with goodies (another kind bar, a kindness tracker, temporary tattoo, crayon) and they had bundles of flowers for the kids to “pick one and pass it on”. On the way out of the zoo both girls handed me their flowers and one of their kindness compliment cards that said “you’re awesome” and thanked me for the great day they had. I can honestly say that my day with my husband and kids at the Phoenix Zoo and encouraging kindness with KINDSnacks was a complete Success!!
