I love all of the cute and trendy neighborhoods that can be found near downtown Phoenix. Some of these neighborhoods are becoming famous for not only the homes, but the locally owned businesses as well. The one that comes to mind for me is the Roosevelt District.
A few weeks ago I was invited to visit The Teapot, an adorable home that was lovingly restored and converted into a family friendly coffee shop. The owner Jonathan is from England and was recently visiting his home country when he stumbled upon a coffee shop gem. The coffee shop was cute, trendy and of course very family friendly. He decided to bring that same concept back to the States and started The Teapot with his wife. They have a young son of their own, so they know how to keep the kiddos happy!
When I visited, I saw a wide variety of people that were all ages. So, don’t think that only young families are welcome. I noticed two realtors that had their laptops out, discussing business. An older gentleman was sitting in the corner reading a newspaper and of course quite a few young moms with their kiddos.
Now when you first walk up, you will notice the perfectly manicured lawn and adorable porch that just begs you to come on in! You can use the stairs or the ramp that is perfect for wheelchairs and strollers.
The first thing you will notice when you enter The Teapot is the array of British inspired goodies like fresh homemade scones and crumpets. I had to ask what a crumpet was and it’s similar to our version of an English muffin. Now you know!
They also serve a wide variety of coffee drinks and of course, hot teas. But you can’t forget about the little ones. They will want some juice and The Teapot has got them covered!
When you’re ready to let the munchkins run loose, head to the backyard. They can play in the clubhouse or even ride on the little pedal car. There is plenty of seating out back and even some covered spots so you can enjoy the shade. The back is fully fenced as well, so you won’t have any little escapees!
Be sure to stop by The Teapot and let them know that you heard about them from Phoenix Mom Blog. Here is the address and hours:
