Hello Everyone,
Autumn Here! I’ve contributed on the Phoenix Mom Blog before and it’s always a treat to try something out, so you will hopefully be encouraged to have a well-deserved self-care day.
A few weekends ago, I was invited to spend an entire day at the LeMonds Spa at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park. If you haven’t been to the spa at the LeMonds, it is an absolute must for a day of rejuvenation and relaxation. From the moment you open the door to the dressing rooms to the actual service you choose, you will be pampered and allowed to fully relax.
The LeMonds Salon and Spa is an Aveda Spa, the company prides itself on their Ayurvedic roots. If you have ever been to an Aveda spa before, the smell of lavender, ylang-ylang, bergamot, rosemary, peppermint, and orange will welcome you. It’s a warm and calming scent that I am now addicted to.
LeMonds has multiple relaxation rooms, a full-service salon, coed and separate pools, and separate men’s and women’s changing rooms and a beautiful private couples massage suite with balcony, and their own boutique if you want to bring the Aveda spa back home to you.
When you check into your appointment, you’ll be led back to the changing rooms, you’ll have a locker, be given a robe and pool sandals. You’ll be encouraged to arrive early so you have time to relax and use the amenities before your treatment. I thoroughly enjoyed the sauna and steam room before my facial. I headed to the relaxation room and waited to be collected for my treatment.
Nikki was my esthetician, she has nine years of experience in her field and is extremely, extremely talented. She asked me a few questions and did an assessment of my skin and had her personal recommendations for me. I was taken on a sensory journey to help me choose my signature scent for the entire treatment. I was encouraged to let go and completely relax.
Nikki recommended doing a microdermabrasion with flower grains, it was the ultimate exfoliation experience and wasn’t painful at all. My skin is sensitive, and while I was a little apprehensive about how my skin would look after it was completed, I was thrilled to see that my skin was even and no redness at all. While my face rested from the treatment, I was treated to a mini massage on my arms, hands, feet and shoulders. Eighty long and glorious minutes of being pampered is really what I needed. I have had facials before, but my skin always looked red and almost irritated. After my facial with Nikki, my skin looked even with no redness, whatsoever.
After the treatment, I was shown to another relaxation room while I enjoyed Aveda’s signature healing tea, which was a unique blend of licorice root and peppermint. After your treatment, you are welcomed to stay all day. I stayed for a good hour, enjoyed my lunch by the pool and listened to a good audiobook. Also, if you haven’t had a Caesar salad at The Wigwam, it was literally the best I have ever had and I consider myself somewhat of a Caesar salad connoisseur.
So if you are wanting to treat yourself and take time for some self-care, because you totally deserve it, you must head to LeMonds and make sure you ask for Nikki.
Happy Relaxing Friends
-Autumn
